LIVE in the present;

PREPARE for the future;

LEARN from the past.

I wouldn't mention it, but maybe this will cheer you up...
ENJOY TODAY
When you’re feeling down
And you start to frown
Remember this little verse.
No matter how bad things seem today
Tomorrow can always be worse.

When things are thin
Hold up your chin
And look for the silver lining.
There’s beauty about, if you just search it out
And nobody wants to hear whining.

When you’re feeling sad
And things go bad
Just smile through every blunder.
That happy look upon your face
Will make the people wonder.
So come what may,
Enjoy today.
No need to rush to sorrow.
You’ll soon find out, without a doubt
It can always be worse tomorrow.

OWED TO THE GIANTS:  Men on Base, Stranded

Let me tell you a story 'bout a baseball game

Near sent our boys to the hall of shame.

San Andreas' fault, so who's to blame?

When that giant legend was branded,

Men on base, stranded.

In the face of a case of a pennant chase

The fat lady sings at the end of the race.

Sure hard to win with men left on base,

Not with men on base, stranded

Stranded, branded stranded.

                 (Branded stranded)

The team we played was called the Bums.

Our pitcher was out with two left thumbs.

The DL was fielding a team that hums,

So try to understand it,

Men on base, stranded.

KnowBuddy called the game.

Is he busy re-calling his fame?

Ogling some gamer dame.

Being candid about what some fan did,

Left the viewers at home stranded.

Stranded, branded stranded.

                 (Branded stranded)

We were up, no outs and a man on first,

Nine strikes later we faced the worst.

First inning bottom, our bubble was burst.

It's sure not how we planned it

With a man on base, stranded.

Two innings later, a table to set,

Behind count their pitcher was starting to sweat.

A run on one out, was a pretty good bet

'Til they caught two fly balls barehanded

And our men on base were stranded.

Stranded, branded stranded.

                (Branded stranded)

Inning five, umps had one of their chats.

Their decision was one for the stats,

Three outs for three out of order at bats,

Clearly the rulebook had banned it.

Men on base, stranded.

Inning seven was stretching its fate.

Our team started hitting, but late.

Add a stolen base blunder

And two out thunder just blew under the Gate.

Had a chance at the dance but we canned it

'Cause we left 'em on base, stranded.

Stranded, branded stranded.

                  (Branded stranded)

The inning was now number nine.

With 2 out and 3 on, the next hit was one of a kind,

When a gull flew a fair ball foul over the line.

"Strike one!"  The umpire commanded.

Would the three men on base be left stranded?

The new guy from Lodi

Watched the next good one go by.

On the third pitch he let fly

And he came through with what was demanded.

He'd not leave the winning run stranded.

Stranded, branded stranded.

                  (Branded stranded)

The bases were loaded,

His bat it exploded,

To the Cove and we knowed it.

But we'll never be sure where it landed.

Unthinkably, sinkably stranded.

It was a grand slam in the making

When the ground started shaking

                      and bridges started breaking,

California earth was quaking.

Thus the giant legend was branded,

Men on base, stranded.

Stranded, branded stranded.

                  (Branded stranded)

Sometimes every inning of sometimes every game

You start out strong, but end up lame.

It's torture when triumph goes out in a flame,

But that's how we were branded

With men on base stranded.

Now when you're watching the game today

Remember it's HOW they play,

Not win or lose or pay.

So pitch perfect game or getting our asses sanded,

Let's get the RBI's expanded

And in the name of the game, not always the same,

Just stop leaving them stranded.

Stranded, branded stranded.

                 (Branded stranded)
